The Heat Gun Vaporizer is one of the best vaporizers that I have ever used. The one I own is the model that comes with a hot air gun and a plastic bag that traps small particles and cools the vapor. The advantage with this vaporizer is that it is not necessary to use water, and the vapor is cooled down by the glass contraption. This removes the problem of the hot vapor over-heating or even melting the plastic bag.

I have been using this vaporizer regularly for some time; although, I don’t use it as much these days because of switching to a Volcano Vaporizer.

I enjoy vapor inhalation from the bag conveniently without having to use the vaporizer with water, since it involves blowing the vapor into the lungs with a hot air gun. Active inhalation of vapor is something I enjoy instead of passive inhalation, where the vapor is sent to the lungs with the use of a fan.

But there is something that needs to be said here, and that is, that vapor filled within a bag feels different. You can check this out by blowing cigarette smoke into a bag and inhaling that. It will certainly taste different from direct smoke inhaled.

This means, the best vaporizer is one that can cool down the direct vapor immediately and allow the user to inhale it, alleviating the necessity of storing the vapor in a bag to cool it down.
Storing the vapor in a plastic bag also raises the concern of any reactions that the plastic can produce when combined with the vapor oils.

I feel the best way to store vapor is to use glass instead of plastic. However, it is not easy to find a glass container that traps the vapor inside without letting it mix with plain air.

With the Heat Gun Vaporizer, the temperature control can be used to set the temperature to very low, which in turn helps remove any excess moisture in the herbs as well as other negative elements that could be released at low temperatures. The herbs can be pre-heated for some time to remove all the unwanted substances and then slowly increase the heat to extract the essence of the herbs.
Let us take a look at some of the advantages and disadvantages of Heat Gun Vaporizers:

Advantages
• Highly efficient, as the vapor released is much higher. If using weed, the person can get high much better than when smoking weed.
• Helps keeps the lungs safe, unlike smoking. When smoking weed, people usually have to keep the smoke for a few seconds to ensure they get high, and this means they also absorb all the negative components of smoking, which are essentially bad for health.
• With a Heat Gun Vaporizer, the vapor can be held down for 10 or even 20 seconds and achieve the desired effect without any of the pollution that is part of smoking. However, since our lungs are not meant to absorb certain herbs, it is important to be moderate in absorption and take small hits, to ensure you don’t overdo it. Personally, I find it comfortable to keep the vapor down for about 12 seconds and make sure I don’t overload the bag with too much vapor or vapor that is too heavy.
• Another advantage with using a vaporizer is that, since there is no accumulation of tar when vaporizing, there is no risk of any stink after a few vaporizing sessions. The vaporizer can be used many times before cleaning it and it will always smell decently good, as long as you enjoy the particular fragrance of the herb used.

Disadvantages
• The surface area of the bag and the glass are quite big and because of this, we could lose a bit of the herb that is collected on the surface. This means it gets degraded quickly because of mixing with light and oxygen.
• Another problematic area with the Heat Gun Vaporizer is the difficulty in cleaning the glass. I use alcohol for cleaning. Although, the bag can be easily replaced, the sticky bag can prove to be difficult for collecting vapor.
• Basically, this is not an easy vaporizer to handle as it is big in size and when using weed and you are stoned, it can get quite difficult and prove to be risky.
• You must ensure that the hot metal end of the air gun is kept far away from the plastic bag. You must also keep the hot air gun in a safe place when it is cooling down. Just take care to not touch the nozzle when hot.
• Another inaccuracy with the Heat Gun Vaporizer is the temperature control, which is not perfect. You will have to gain experience to get a clear picture of the best temperature setting for the amount of weed being used. When a large amount of weed is used and it crumbles into small pieces, it means that the airflow is blocked and the air that is flowing through is too hot.
• Since the Heat Gun Vaporizer needs to be pre-heated at a higher temperature, it is easy to get confused initially with a possibility of burning the weed and not vaporizing it. It takes a lot of practice to get a hang of this.

Conclusion
If you use weed regularly, this can be an efficient way of getting high on it. However, since the vaporizer is somewhat clumsy and difficult to handle, a better alternative in my opinion would be to get yourself a Volcano Vaporizer like I did. It comes with better temperature control and provides much more convenience of use. It is also easy to maintain and keep clean. Another advantage with the Volcano Vaporizer is that no vapor goes waste as there is no glasswork to collect the vapor.
